Drug dealer killed in Iran

On 6 February, Iranian Brigadier General Kasem Rezai, Commander of the Border Guard, stated that a drug dealer had been killed by security forces in the south-eastern province of Sistan and Balochistan. This was reported by the news agency IRNA. According to a police report, the provincial border service found in a large-scale intelligence operation that smugglers planned to transit drugs from the area to Europe. During the operation, the force was able to kill a drug dealer known as Sadam. One person was reportedly arrested. The success of the operation was evidenced by the seizure of one ton and eight kilograms of various types of narcotic substances, including opium and hashish. The force also managed to locate a significant amount of light and light-heavy weapons with ammunition. In his statement, Kasem Rezai noted the importance of carrying out such operations and called on European countries to combat drug trafficking.
