Global tablet shipments fell 12% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2020. This is evidenced by the Strategy Analytics report published on the company's website. The coronavirus pandemic has not only reduced the demand for tablet computers, but also slowed production. However, some suppliers managed to keep the level of deliveries. In particular, Apple deliveries decreased by only 3% year-on-year, Samsung deliveries by 2%, and Chinese company Lenovo managed to increase deliveries by 2%. Huawei and Amazon were hit harder, cutting shipments by 15% and 9% respectively. A total of 32.2 million tablet computers were delivered in the first quarter of 2020. Apple remains the market leader, supplying 9.9 million devices. Also among the leaders in supply Samsung (4.7 million), Huawei (3 million), Amazon (2.8 million) and Lenovo (1.6 million). Smaller producers were hit hardest, with combined shipments falling from 36.6 million in the first quarter of 2019 to 32.2 million in the same period in 2020.
