Foreign Ministers of South Korea and Sri Lanka held a telephone conversation

On May 4, the Foreign Ministers of South Korea and Sri Lanka held a telephone conversation during which they discussed cooperation in the fight against coronavirus. This is reported by Yonhap News with reference to representatives of the South Korean Foreign Ministry. As part of the conversation, South Korean Foreign Minister Kang Gyung-hwa shared with her colleague information about the epidemiological situation in the country, and stressed the need for socio-economic exchanges. In turn, Dinesh Gunaverdena highly appreciated the holding of parliamentary elections in the context of the coronavirus pandemic, and also expressed hope for the development of bilateral cooperation and assistance from South Korea in combating the infection. As of 3 May, 690 people had been infected with coronavirus in Sri Lanka.
