Cavusoglu accused France of destructive actions in Libya

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said that amid efforts by Russia and Turkey to stop hostilities in Libya, France is carrying out actions that can be considered destructive, Turkish news agency Anadolu reports on June 30. This was announced by the Turkish Foreign Minister at a joint press conference with his Hungarian counterpart Peter Siyyarto. According to him, France, which in words supports the PNS, secretly helps the opposite side of the conflict of the Libyan National Army Khalifa Haftar by supplying them with weapons. Paris in words rejects the support of the putschists, but in fact French weapons are purchased by the UAE and delivered to Libya. Paris is dishonest in its actions, Cavusoglu said. In addition, he said that the NATO alliance regularly calls Russia's presence in Libya a threat, but France plays in favor of Russia in northern Africa. Recall that earlier French President Emmanuel Macron said that Turkey is engaged in dangerous games in Libya that contradict the obligations undertaken by Ankara at an international conference in Berlin, where everyone pledged to refrain from interfering in the conflict and comply with the arms embargo. According to the news agency, a civil war has been ongoing in Libya since 2011, which has now been reduced to a confrontation between the Government of National Accord (PNS) of Fayez Sarraj and the Libyan National Army under the command of Haftar.
