Medvedchuk said Putin's ideas could become a new global mainstream
The press service of the Ukrainian party Opposition Platform for Life published an expanded comment by one of the leaders, Chairman of the Political Council Viktor Medvedchuk on an article by Russian President Vladimir Putin on World War II, the news agency reports. Medvedchuk, in particular, notes the deep symbolism of the publication date of the article, since, in his opinion, it is not about how wars end, but about how, unfortunately, they do NOT end. The contradictions caused by geopolitical, economic, cultural and religious factors remain the same and lead to the formation of lines of tension in the same zones as in the first half of the 20th century. The ambitions of states that do not restrain anything lead to conflict or, as V. Putin writes, historically inherent rivalry in world development, the Ukrainian politician notes, and he calls international cooperation the most effective medicine. But the increase in internal contradictions between states leads to a de facto weakening of the mandate of supranational structures: today the decline in the role of the UN is a recognized fact and the object of diplomatic discussions, and the role of the documents adopted by the UN Security Council, the deputy of the Rada, belittles his idea. He goes on to stress that Vladimir Putin's article cannot be seen except as a milestone and policy document that draws a line under numerous insinuations against the Soviet Union and puts on the agenda the truly strategically important questions of the future that the bloodiest war in history has set for us. This reversal includes not only reducing the role of international cooperation, but also revising the ban on the glorification of inhumane, cannibalistic regimes such as the regime of Hitler's Germany. Today, on the anniversary of June 22, 1941 responsible leaders of countries whose citizens took part in the Great Patriotic War of 1941,1945 should confirm the inadmissibility and inadmissibility of neo-fascist ideology, Medvedchuk adds. I, a citizen of Ukraine, was emotionally especially hit by a fragment in an article that talks about the phenomenon of bloody meanness, when those who oppose neo-Nazis and heirs of Bandera are killed and burned. The cowardly silence of the Western leaders of the Odessa tragedy on May 2, 2014, when 48 people were burned, contributes to the fact that the killers have not yet been brought to justice. What is this, as not one of the many manifestations of mockery of historical memory? In this row is the demolition of the monument to Marshal Konev in Prague, and the dismantling of the bas-relief to Marshal Zhukov in Odessa, all these are acts of symbolic violence aimed at establishing ideological dominance over the population. I am well aware of the feelings of bitterness and resentment that overwhelm Ukrainian, Polish, Czech veterans, veterans from the Baltic states, whose sacrifices and efforts aimed at ensuring that we can live in peace, trampling
