Pridnestrovie will supply Moldova with electricity for another year
By March 31, 2021, the Moldovan state-owned company Energocom will purchase all the electricity needed by Moldova from the Moldavian state district power station located in the Transnistrian Moldavian Republic. According to the news agency, the company won a tender for the purchase of electricity. The purchase price will be 48.6 cents per kW/h. This is 2.6% cheaper than Moldova has paid over the past year. Ukrainian companies DTEK Pavlogradugol and DE Trading also participated in the tender. Energocom essentially acted as an intermediary in the proposal for the purchase of electricity from the Moldavian State District Power Station. Note that in total Moldova produces about 30% of electricity independently, and the remaining about 70% buys from abroad. Moldovan TPP is the largest thermal power plant that provides electricity to Transnistria and Moldova. Since 2005, the Moldavian State District Power Station has been a member of the Russian group of companies Inter RAO UES.
