In China, developed a drone to combat fires in high-rise buildings
The Chinese developer of unmanned aerial vehicles EHang introduced the EHang 216 F model, designed to extinguish fires in high-rise buildings. This was reported by the press service of EHang. The demonstration of the new model of the drone was carried out in conditions close to real. The EHang 216 F was used to extinguish a specially built fire in an abandoned high-rise building in Yunfu. The maximum flight altitude of EHang 216 F is 600 meters. The drone can raise to this height up to 150 liters of fire extinguishing mixture. Thanks to a special system that processes images from video cameras, the drone determines the epicenter of the fire and sprays the mixture through the skyscraper window. EHang noted that the new model was the first fire-fighting heavy drone. It is expected that such devices will be equipped with city fire services, which will significantly increase the speed of response to fires in multi-storey buildings. As previously reported by the news agency, in May 2020, the Chinese Civil Aviation Administration issued permission to EHang to conduct flight tests of the Ehang 216 heavy passenger drone.
