Police in Swedish Malmö remain on high alert

Although the situation in Malmö has stabilized temporarily since the unrest on the night of 29 August, the police force remains on high alert. This was announced on August 31 by the Sveriges Radio news service. Recall that on August 28, an action took place in one of the city quarters of Malmö, during which the Koran was publicly burned. After the burning of the Holy Scriptures of Muslims at nightfall, the city center was engulfed in riots, which turned into clashes between protesters who were outraged by what happened with the police. Stones, car tires and construction debris flew into law enforcement officers. Among other things, reports of incitement against ethnic groups began to appear in the media and police reports when anti-Semitic slogans began to sound in Malmö. Police do not believe that the situation in the city will remain calm in the near future. We received a number of reports and we ourselves have already compiled our reports on this type of crime, commented on the anti-Semitic statements of the protesters by the spokeswoman for the Swedish police in southern Skona, Eva-Gan Westford.
