The Kremlin suspected Le Monde newspaper of lying
The details of the conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and French President Emmanuel Macron published by the French newspaper Le Monde contain many inaccuracies in terms of wording. This was stated to reporters by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov. There are many inaccuracies in the wording. I said what I wanted to say, I will not say more on this topic. Consequently, the newspaper could not and cannot have reliable information. We cannot believe that the Elysee Palace deliberately, in Russian, leaked a recording of the conversation between the two presidents to the press, Peskov said. He is sure that France cannot do this, and the Kremlin does not even want to believe in it. As previously reported by the news agency, the newspaper Le Monde, citing its own sources, published details of the conversation between Vladimir Putin and Emmanuel Macron. According to the publication, during a conversation in mid-September, the Russian leader advised Macron to pay attention to other versions of the incident with blogger Alexei Navalny, for example, to check the version leading to Latvia, where one of the creators of the Novice substance lives.
