Citizen of Ukraine tried to remove from Moldova a batch of smuggled cigarettes

Employees of the Moldovan Customs Department during the inspection of the car when leaving the Moldovan Republic found a large batch of smuggled cigarettes, the Customs Service of Moldova reports. Thus, more than 192 thousand cigarettes with excise stamps of the Republic of Belarus were found at the checkpoint in Leusheny when leaving the state when checking the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter car with Hungarian numbers, employees of the customs department of the Republic. It is noteworthy that the driver of the car was a citizen of Ukraine. The man hid the smuggled tobacco products in the equipped caches of the car in the ceiling and side walls of the vehicle. The Customs Service noted that tobacco products were intended to be sold by a citizen of Ukraine on the black market of the European Union. The Ministry also noted that over the past week nine attempts to export smuggled tobacco products from Moldova were stopped. According to the news agency, a large batch of smuggled cigarettes was seized on the border of Ukraine with Hungary. The car was headed for Hungary.
