Houthi opponents in Yemen openly clashed with each other

In Yemen, clashes broke out between the government supported by Saudi Arabia and the Southern Transitional Council. This was reported on June 20 by Al Jazeera. Clashes occurred on Socotra when the council leadership sent its armed forces there. The number of victims suffered by the parties is not reported. Recall that in April 2020, the Southern Transitional Council announced self-government, accusing the country's government of failing to solve the social problems of the region. The contradictions between the previous allies play into the hands of the Houthis, who control most of the state, including its capital, the city of Sana'a. The civil war in Yemen has been ongoing since 2014. In 2015, an Arab coalition led by Saudi Arabia invaded the conflict, leading to an escalation of violence.
