Sweden has overcome the peak of the coronavirus pandemic - state epidemiologist
Anders Tegnell, a state epidemiologist at Sweden's Public Health Agency, said it was now absolutely clear that Sweden had already overcome the peak of the coronavirus pandemic. According to the expert, for such development of epidemiological situation there are two factors. This was reported on June 2 by the Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter. Eight people have died in Sweden over the past 24 hours, and the number of cases detected continues to decline. In the last 24 hours, the infection was detected in 272 people. Tegnell estimates that the combination of warmer weather and immunity to the virus among the Swedish population, means that the spread of infection in the country currently continues to decrease. After all, there have been no significant changes regarding compliance with social distance, so we know that these two factors influence the spread of infection, Tegnell said.
