Saakashvili believes that Washington loses influence on Georgia

The lack of a firm position of US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and his use of the diplomatic language in a conversation with Georgian Prime Minister Georgy Gakharia disappointed the head of the executive committee of reforms of Ukraine and former Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili. He wrote about this on July 28 on his page on the social network Facebook. According to the ex-president, it makes no sense to spend time talking about democratic values ​ ​ with representatives of the Georgian authorities, since they all allegedly obey instructions from the Kremlin. Saakashvili is confident that for eight years the Georgian Dream party, becoming ruling in 2012, allegedly works against US interests in Georgia. Therefore, the US Secretary of State, trying to involve Gaharia in the conversation about democracy is an absolute waste of time. In fact, this is counterproductive to US interests, writes the former Georgian leader. He noted that Washington, due to its erroneous actions, allegedly loses influence on Georgia. Saakashvili emphasized that he hopes for a tough position on the part of the United States in the future, otherwise millions of Georgians will be disappointed. Recall, on July 27, a telephone conversation took place between Pompeo and Gakharia on the occasion of the postponement of the meeting on partnership issues between Georgia and the United States. After the telephone conversation, the Secretary of State noted that during the conversation he reminded the Georgian Prime Minister about the importance of holding high-level parliamentary elections in Georgia.
